Professional Development Lead Accreditation Programme
Would you like to become an NCETM Accredited PD Lead?
Origin Maths Hub are looking for enthusiastic teachers (all phases from Early Years to Post 16) to take part in a fully funded programme to support them in designing, leading and evaluating mathematics teacher professional development.
An essential aim of the NCETM and the Maths Hubs Network is to provide opportunities for all practitioners of maths to benefit from high quality collaborative professional development (PD). This requires that there are enough people with the skills and capacity to lead, facilitate and support the professional development of others, both within and across settings. The PD Lead Programme is designed for participants who are working with other teachers to enhance the teaching and learning of maths.
Behind all NCETM and Maths Hubs work in the field of teaching for mastery are Five Big Ideas, all informed by research evidence and classroom experience. The diagram above helps bind these ideas together – you can find out more about these here :
Deadline for applications: 29th March 2024
I have found being involved in the LLME community incredibly rewarding, as it has played a crucial role in shaping my own journey. I particularly enjoy the ongoing collaboration and focus on specific aspects of teaching for mastery, and applying this knowledge in my own practice. The support from the Origin community has been invaluable, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances PD. The constant prioritisation of long-term impact, offering expert-led, year-long PD for practical, school-wide enhancements, has been particularly enriching. It’s gratifying to receive feedback from my work group, further facilitating collaboration and allowing colleagues to exchange ideas and practices.
Steve, PD Lead 2023 – Warwickshire
